The present invention provides a method for reducing noise in an output signal of an RI detection unit in an analyzer including a dual flow type differential refractive index (RI) detection unit. A sample solution is sent to a sample cell using a sample pump, a reference solution is sent to a reference cell using a reference pump, and two cells are sequentially connected. A change in the traveling direction of the transmitted light is detected by the photodetector 53. Before starting the RI measurement, the phase difference between the sample pump 21 and the reference pump 22 is adjusted. That is, the pulsating flow from the sample pump 21 propagates into the sample cell 51 and the noise generated in the output signal of the photodetector 53 and the pulsating flow from the reference pump 22 propagate into the reference cell 52. Thus, the phase difference between the two pumps 21 and 22 is adjusted so that the noise generated in the output signal of the photodetector 53 cancels out. [Selection] Figure 1
