How to execute odd lot orders

A method for executing a fractional trade is disclosed. In one aspect, the method for executing a fractional buy or sell order may be performed by a fractional processing unit (FPU) configured with a hold queue, an in-progress queue, a fractional balancer, and a fractional database. The odd portion of a buy or sell order is subject to the method. In another aspect, the method of executing a hypothetical buy order may be performed by an FPU, wherein an estimated fractional portion of the hypothetical buy order is targeted by the method. In another aspect, the method for executing a hypothetical sell order may be performed by an FPU, wherein the quantity of the executed unit share portion of the hypothetical sell order is targeted by the method. In another aspect, the method of executing a fractional trading may be partially implemented by providing the FPU with a stock of a clearing account. [Selection diagram] Fig. 1
