To provide a cell-immobilizing device and a cell-immobilizing method in which a single fine cell can be immobilized separately from other cells.SOLUTION: A cell-immobilizing device that immobilizes a cell comprises: a first member on the surface of which a groove is formed; a second member which comes in contact with the first member and covers the groove; a flow channel formed by the groove and the second member; and a plurality of holes which penetrate the first member or the second member and communicate with the flow channel. The flow channel comprises a first flow channel and a second flow channel. The first flow channel extends from an area communicating with a first hole being a part of the plurality of holes to an area communicating with a second hole being a part of the plurality of holes. The second flow channel is branched from the first flow channel and extends to an area communicating with any hole out of the plurality of holes. The second flow channel comprises a bottleneck part which has a narrower width than the first flow channel, and is capable of immobilizing the cell.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
