Individual metabolomic profiling of specific inflammation-focusing mediators

Disclosed are methods for providing metabololipidomics profiles and SPM signatures in the progression of the natural biodefense response following thrombus formation. The method comprises the step of obtaining one or more measurements of thrombogenic and inflammatory mediators (eicosanoids) and specific proinflammatory mediator SPM in a blood sample of a patient, the sample comprising thrombus formation. Alternatively, it is obtained during the lapse of time of coagulation or following thrombus formation or coagulation. Individual metabololipidomics profiles can be obtained from these measurements. A comparison profile can be developed by comparing the measured values with measured values obtained from normal or reference blood. The profile comparison profile can then be used to make medical or therapeutic decisions. [Selection diagram] Figure 1
