To reduce discontinuities in a sweep range in a sweeping laser system.SOLUTION: A sweeping laser system (10, 20) comprises a semiconductor laser source (12), a laser control unit (16), a sweep performance monitoring device (18, 26), and a processor (14). Multiple control currents at each of multiple points in a sweep are adjusted, using a post-sweep feedback loop applied to the entire sweep, to produce a desired wavelength-versus-time profile on the basis of data from the sweep performance monitoring device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
