Feedback-based retransmission using mixed duration transmission time intervals

Generating a first transport block (TB) including a number of code blocks (CB) transmitted to a receiver during a first transmission time interval (TTI) having a first duration; Techniques are provided for providing retransmission of any failed CBs in a second TTI having a duration selected from among the available TTI durations. The second TTI may have a second TTI duration that is shorter than the first TTI duration, and may have a CB from only the first TB. One or more of the duration or frequency resources of the second TTI may be selected based on the number of CBs retransmitted within the second TTI.
