Disclosed are embodiments of negative pressure wound therapy systems and methods of operating the systems. In one embodiment, the negative pressure wound therapy device may include a wound dressing, a negative pressure source, and a controller. The negative pressure source can provide negative pressure to the wound dressing through the fluid flow path. The controller may monitor the fluid removal rate from the wound, wirelessly communicate the fluid removal rate to a remote device, and output an indication if the fluid removal rate meets a threshold.
