To accurately determine the presence or absence of a heat-and-toe wear in a heat-and-toe wear determination method and device for a pneumatic tire.SOLUTION: A heal-and-toe wear determination method for a pneumatic tire comprises: measuring acceleration speed or force of a pattern vibration by rolling a new tire 1 at a predetermined speed; calculating a reference energy value E0 in a predetermined frequency range from the acceleration speed or force of the pattern vibration measured using the new tire 1; measuring the acceleration speed or force of the pattern vibration by rolling a to-be-measured tire 1 at a predetermined speed; calculating a measurement energy value E in the predetermined frequency range from the acceleration speed or force of the pattern vibration measured using the to-be-measured tire 1; and, when the measurement energy value E is greater than the reference energy value E0 by a predetermined value, determining that a heat-and-toe wear has arisen.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
