Attachment to the landing gear door rub-strip was made with four (4) NAS-697 inverted nut-plates on a .020 x 4.2 x 6.4 stainless steel plate.nTest results indicate the effective life of the rub-strip pad and insulator is satisfactory for at least ten (10) applications. Considerations were taken into account for the maximum allowable buckle distortion and its ability to perform as an insulator. Ten (10) repeated tire contacts resulted in a distortion of 0.29 inches.
