To provide an insulation-coated aluminum wire deterioration diagnosis device which quantitatively diagnoses corrosion which has occurred in a gap between an insulation-coated aluminum wire and insulation coating.SOLUTION: An insulation-coated aluminum wire deterioration diagnosis device (1) by a self-comparison eddy current flaw detection method of the present invention includes the steps of: scanning an insulation-coated aluminum wire (15) erected between power poles by a pair of self-induction type probe coils arranged in series from the surface in the longitudinal direction; and quantitatively diagnosing corrosion in a gap between the insulation-coated aluminum wires (15) based on a defect waveform appearing in differential signals of the pair of probe coils.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
