PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-car elevator capable of appropriately selecting a car for exclusive operation such as VIP operation.;SOLUTION: The multi-car elevator makes a plurality of cars arranged in two hoistways travel individually or in pairs. The multi-car elevator includes a reception unit that determines an instruction of exclusive operation of a car while setting a specific floor as a landing floor, and an exclusive operation car decision unit that makes one of the plurality of cars be on standby for the exclusive operation at the specific floor of one of the two hoistways and makes another one of the plurality of cars be on standby for the exclusive operation at the specific floor of the other hoistway when the reception unit receives the instruction of the exclusive operation.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2;COPYRIGHT: (C)2020,JPO&INPIT
