Methods for forming vulcanizable elastomeric formulations are disclosed. The method comprises the step of mixing the elastomer with a vulcanizing agent to form a vulcanizable elastomeric formulation containing the vulcanizing agent dispersed in the elastomeric compound, wherein the vulcanizing agent comprises a cyclododeca sulfur compound. Also described are methods of forming vulcanized elastomeric articles.
