PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and improved fluidized bed apparatus in which the temperature of coal, which becomes a raw material of agglomerated coal, can be controlled within 120-170°C, and to provide a method for drying/sorting coal by using the new and improved fluidized bed apparatus.SOLUTION: The fluidized bed apparatus includes: a raw coal supply part; a drying chamber in which the coal supplied from the raw coal supply part is fluidized by drying hot air to dry the coal; a sorting chamber in which the coal dried in the drying chamber is fluidized by sorting hot air to sort the coal dried in the drying chamber; a partition wall for partitioning the fluidized bed into the drying chamber and the sorting chamber; and a low-temperature coal supply part for throwing the coal, which is contained in the exhaust gas discharged from the drying chamber, in the sorting chamber from the upper part of the fluidized bed in the sorting chamber. When the temperature of the drying hot air becomes the maximum, the temperature of the exhaust gas to be discharged from the drying chamber becomes within 90-100°C.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
