New immediate-release and modified-release oral dosage forms of tevipenem pivoxil

Immediate and modified release oral dosage forms of tevipenem pivoxil comprising a dosage form core are provided. The dosage form core comprises tevipenem pivoxil in free base or salt form, a binder, a lubricant, an excipient, optionally with a diluent, and optionally additional excipients. The weight ratio of tevipenem pivoxil to excipient in the dosage form core is 30:60 to 60:30. The present disclosure includes methods of treating bacterial infections, including complex urinary tract infections.
