The present invention relates to an apparatus for detecting opacity in an X-ray image. Providing (210) an analytical X-ray image of a region of interest of a body part to be analyzed is described. A model of a normal region of interest is provided (220), the model being based on a plurality of x-ray images of the region of interest. At least one anomaly is detected in the region of interest of the body part being analyzed (230), the detection comprising comparing the analyzed x-ray image of the region of interest with a model of the normal region of interest. Information regarding at least one anomaly is output (240).
