The invention discloses low cis-polybutadiene rubber and a preparation method thereof. The low cis-polybutadiene rubber is wide in molecular weight distribution and is used as a flexibilizer of aromatic vinyl resin and capable of effectively improving impact resistance and glossiness of aromatic vinyl resin. The invention further discloses the aromatic vinyl resin and a preparation method thereof.According to the preparation method, polymer solution containing low cis-polybutadiene rubber and polymer solution containing a linear butylbenzene copolymer are mixed with aromatic vinyl monomers toprepare the aromatic vinyl resin through bulk polymerization, the process operation is simplified, the technical process is shortened, reduction of total operating energy consumption and improvementof production efficiency are benefited, and the prepared aromatic vinyl resin shows evidently improved glossiness and impact resistance.
