PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a book management device of a book storage management system, a book management method and a program which can grasp correctly a state in a container.SOLUTION: An imaging device 4 acquires a plurality of image data D11-D1m about a container 8 to be conveyed by conveying means 2. Composing means 501 produces composite image data D2 on the basis of the plurality of image data. Detecting means 502 detects positions of container identification data D3 in the composite image data. Container recognizing means 504 recognizes a region of the container on the basis of color analytical processing and the positions of the container identification data D3. Book recognizing means 505 recognizes books in the composite image data on the basis of the region of the container. Counting means 506 counts the number of the books stored in the container. Acquiring means 503 acquires the container identification data. Memorizing means 507 memorizes the container identification data and the number of the books, associating the data with the number.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
