To provide a heating furnace initial plan preparing method which highly precisely estimates a cycle staying time in the heating furnace in which rolled stocks of the same rolling cycle are heated.SOLUTION: First of all, a plurality of rolled stocks which are heated in a plurality of heating furnaces in future are set as the same rolling cycle, and a rolling order of the rolling stocks of the same rolling cycle is set. Subsequently, the rolling stocks of the same rolling cycle are assigned to the plurality of heating furnaces. Subsequently, furnace velocity of each of the plurality of rolled stocks heated by the same heating furnace is calculated. A pitch of the rolled stocks which are moved to come up to an extraction port of the same heating furnace is calculated based on the calculated furnace velocity. Subsequently, extraction time extracted from the same heating furnace based on the calculated pitch of the rolled stock is calculated. Subsequently, a time from a heading rolled stock to a final rolling stock of the same rolling cycle is calculated as a cycle staying time in the furnace based on the calculated extraction time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
