PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 2 eye stereoscopic image generation device capable of generating a 2 eye stereoscopic image efficiently from an IP stereoscopic image.SOLUTION: A 2 eye stereoscopic image generation device 20 includes viewpoint position determination means 201 for determining a viewpoint position corresponding to both eyes of an observer observing a 2 eye stereoscopic image, pixel position calculation means 202 for calculating the pixel position for right eye and the pixel position for left eye of an image pickup device 103, based on the viewpoint position, and the information of a lens array 101 and image pickup device 103, image pickup device control means 203 driving the pixels at the pixel position for right eye and the pixel position for left eye, out of the all pixels of the image pickup device 103, and pixel value assignment means 204 for acquiring the pixel values of pixels at the pixel position for right eye and the pixel position for left eye thus driven, and assigning as the pixel values of pixels of a 2 eye stereoscopic image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
