To provide a Potts model calculation device with which it is possible to calculate a Potts problem that is a multi-value spin problem.SOLUTION: Provided is a Potts model calculation device using an Ising model calculation device 4 including resonators 1, 2 for amplifying a plurality of optical pulses and a feedback configuration for computing an interaction relating to some optical pulses and feeding back, and a Potts conversion calculation unit 6. The feedback configuration performs computation by decomposition into a first interaction that is an interaction between two-value spins and a second interaction that is a two-value interaction of one first interaction with another and thereby calculates an interaction to be implemented in the plurality of optical pulses. The Potts conversion calculation unit calculates a value Si obtained from the spin values of the plurality of optical pulses obtained as the result of calculation performed by the Ising model calculation device, and thereby calculates the problem mapped to a Potts model using the Ising model.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
