To provide a method for producing a 7000 series aluminum alloy member which improves stress corrosion crack resistance when at least a part of regions of a 7000 series aluminum alloy extrusion member is subjected to plasticity working to be formed into a member.SOLUTION: A method for producing a 7000 series aluminum alloy member excellent in stress corrosion crack resistance includes: heating a region where a 7000 series aluminum alloy extrusion member after press-hardening is subjected to plasticity working to be formed into a member at a rate of temperature rise of 0.4°C/sec. or more; holding the region in a temperature range of 300-590°C for 0 second or more; subjecting the region to restoration treatment of cooling the region at a cooling rate of 0.5°C/sec. or more; then subjecting the region to plasticity working within 72 hours; further heating the region at a rate of temperature rise of 0.4°C/sec. or more; holding the region in a temperature range of 300-590°C for 0 second or more and 300 seconds or less; then subjecting the region to heating treatment of cooling the region at a cooling rate of 2000°C/sec. or less; and then subjecting the whole member to artificial aging treatment.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
