A composition containing a norborneneimide copolymer having a structural unit represented by the formula [1] and a structural unit represented by the formula [2], and an organic nonlinear optical compound. (In the formula, R1 is an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms which may have a substituent, or an aryl group having 6 to 10 carbon atoms which may have a substituent.
