PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducer, which can execute quick traverse or reverse reproduction of contents, capable of appropriately starting reproduction of contents.SOLUTION: A reproducer P1 for reproducing a moving image including a plurality of frames includes: a counter management unit 22 for increasing a counter value at a predetermined time interval; a reception unit 24 for receiving a preproduction start command including a start counter value showing timing for starting reproduction of a moving image and start position information showing a position of reproduction start in the moving image; and a reproduction control unit 28 for starting reproduction of the moving image from a position shown by the start position information when the reception unit 24 receives the reproduction start command and a counter value of the counter management unit 22 is not less than the start counter value included in the received reproduction start command.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
