The process according to the invention for assembling a first element (8) and a second element (11) by interdiffusion of a first metal and of a second metal comprises the successive steps of depositing at least one layer (14) of the first metal on surfaces to be assembled of the first and second elements, sandwiching a layer (15) of the second metal between the surfaces to be assembled coated with the first metal, exerting a pressure (18) on the elements so as to bring the surfaces to be assembled together as closely as possible, and heating the assembly thus formed so as to cause a melting of the layer of second metal and a production, by germination and growth, of a first metal-second metal intermetallic layer ensuring the assembling of the elements. In accordance with the invention, the layer of first metal (14) has a lacunary structure that facilitates a penetration of the second metal into this layer of first metal.
