PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely extract a synonymous expression of a compound noun from document data.SOLUTION: A synonymous expression extraction device includes a word pair setting part, a meaning similarity learning part, a word synonym determination part and a compound noun synonym determination part. The word pair setting part identifies a plurality of word pairs in a pair of compound nouns extracted from a document as synonymous word pairs and undetermined word pairs. The meaning similarity learning part performs learning processing of word similarity between words for each of the undetermined pairs and each of the plurality of synonymous word pairs in the document by adding case examples a plurality of times. The word synonym determination part determines whether words of the undetermined word pair are synonyms on the basis of a correlation coefficient concerning a relation between the count of learning processing and the meaning similarity in the undetermined word pair and a relation between the count of learning processing and the similarity in the synonymous word pair. When a plurality of word pairs in the pair of compound nouns are all synonymous word pairs, the compound noun synonym determination part determines that the pairs of the compound nouns are synonymous expressions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
