PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for refining ferronickel, upon reduction melting in an electric furnace, capable of producing ferronickel with a high nickel grade while preventing the reduction of operation efficiency by suppressing the generation of a boiling phenomenon.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for refining ferronickel comprising a process where sintered ores obtained by partially reducing nickel oxide ores as raw material are charged to a three phase alternating current type electric furnace, and the sintered ores are subjected to reduction melting to generate a metal and slag. When the sintered ores charged to the three phase alternating current type electric furnace are partitioned into the sintered ores A relatively high in a residual carbon content and the sintered ores B relatively low in a residual carbon content, and the sintered ores are charged to the three phase alternating current type electric furnace, the sintered ores A are charged to a range surrounded by three electrodes in the three phase alternating current type electric furnace, and the sintered ores B are charged to the outside of the range surrounded by the three electrodes in the three phase alternating current type electric furnace.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
