The present invention relates to the production of an Nb3Sn superconducting wire made of an internal tin method, by improving the functions such as promotion of Nb3Sn layer formation, superconducting filament mechanical strength (and increase in interfacial resistance), critical temperature (magnetic field), and crystal grain refinement. An abundant Nb3Sn superconducting wire and a method for producing the same are provided. In the method for producing a Nb3Sn superconducting wire according to one embodiment of the present invention, the alloy composition is Cu-xZn-yM (x: 0.1 to 40% by mass, M = Ge, Ga, Mg, or Al; X is 0 to 40% by mass), the Sn insertion hole 12 is provided at the center of the rod 10, and is provided discretely along the outer peripheral surface of the Sn insertion hole 12.
