To produce itaconic acid with high efficiency using microorganisms with only simple operations.SOLUTION: A production method of itaconic acid comprises preparing a recombinant psychrophile into which an aconitase expression gene and a cis aconitate dehydrogenase expression gene have been introduced, reacting the psychrophile with a solution containing citric acid to produce itaconic acid, and collecting the supernatant of the solution after the reaction.SELECTED DRAWING: None
