To provide a processing method for a content in a reaction tower applicable to the reaction towers for the wide range of petroleum fractions or petrochemical fractions and capable of easily preventing fever, firing and occurrence of noxious gas such as a sulfur-containing gas, and to provide a method for safely, efficiently extracting the content in the reaction tower, and a hydrocarbon oil.SOLUTION: There are provided a processing method for a content in a reaction tower, including a wetting process for wetting at least an outermost surface layer of the content in the reaction tower by dispersing a hydrocarbon oil from the upper part in the reaction tower; an extraction method for the content in the reaction tower including a wetting process in the processing method, a process of introducing air in the reaction tower from above to eliminate a structure in the reaction tower, and a process of extracting the content in the reaction tower; and the hydrocarbon oil used in the wetting process of the content having a prescribed aspect.SELECTED DRAWING: None
