Provided are systems and methods of hydrocarbon well monitoring, assessment and development including: obtaining wellhead production data for a well; determining, based on the wellhead production data for the well, observed constant wellhead production rates for the well; for each of the observed constant wellhead production rates, determining a corresponding wellhead pressure and a cumulative production volume for each occurrence of the observed wellhead production rate, and a depletion rate for the observed constant wellhead production rate; determining, based on the depletion rates for the observed constant wellhead production rates, a depletion rate for the well that is indicative of a change in a flowing wellhead pressure of the well as a function of production volume of the well. Embodiments include undertaking well and reservoir development operations based on the depletion rate determined for the well.
