The object of the present invention is a device for measuring muscle strength comprising an electrostimulator (1) provided with at least two electrodes (1.1) intended to be placed on the skin of the user at the motor muscle point of measurement, a sensor (2) and an analyzer (3); is adapted to transmit signals proportional to the muscular response to electrostimulatory pulses to the analyzer (3), and comprises fixation means allowing articulated movement of the measured limb, provided with at least one compression strap (2.3) connected to a source (3.1) of compressed air. An analyzer (3) is connected to the pressure pulling strap (2.3) to analyze the air pressure changes of the pressure pulling strap (2.3) through the pressure hose (3.2). The analyzer (3) and the sensor (2) are feedback coupled to the electrostimulator (1) and electrodes (1.1). The present invention further relates to a method for testing the muscular performance of athletes.
