The invention relates to heterocyclic purine derivatives of the formula I with nitrogen-containing substituents, their use in medical applications and preparations containing these derivatives. The new generation of compounds has selective antineurodegenerative properties on nerve cells and tissues and can be advantageously used in the treatment and prophylaxis of neurodegenerative diseases, in particular in the treatment and prophylaxis of Parkinson's disease.
