The present invention relates to a configuration method of a centrifugal pump assembly that can be used for various different device types and can operate in various adjustment types with corresponding regulator configurations. The operator pre-specifies at least one device type and/or at least one adjustment type to the configuration device. The configuration device includes a stored predetermined matching relationship and the plurality of application-specific regulator configurations; in the matching relationship, each device type matches at least one device type; and the combinations of thedevice types and the adjustment types are associated with the regulator configurations in the matching relationship respectively. The configuration device selects the associated regulator configuration according to the device type and/or the adjustment type in accordance with the matching relationship and places the associated regulator configuration on the centrifugal pump assembly. The invention further relates to a configuration assistance system implementing the method, a centrifugal pump assembly having the configuration assistance system, and an arrangement system including the centrifugal pump assembly and a handheld device having the configuration assistance system.
