The invention relates to pharmaceuticals and veterinary medicine, in particular to drugs with a prolonged uterotonic effect and used for the prevention and treatment of postpartum complications such as subinvolution of the uterus, retention of the placenta, endometritis, etc. The technical result consists in expanding the arsenal of veterinary drugs with a prolonged uterotonic effect in postpartum complications in animals. The technical result is achieved by the claimed veterinary drug, which has a uterotonic effect, used for the prevention and treatment of postpartum complications in animals, including propranolol hydrochloride, chitosan hydrochloride, glycerin and water for injection, with the following ratio, wt%: propranolol hydrochloride - 5 , glycerin - 10, chitosan hydrochloride - 2, water for injection - up to 100%.
