A mechanical part (at least 70% at) with "amorphous carbon coating". The invention relates to an RA coating for sliding fit with an antagonistic component whose surface hardness is not more than two-thirds of that of the coating. The RA coating has a roughness which is not more than 0.050 μ m measured by a section and measured by an atomic force microscope. The micro roughness shall be at least equal to 0.004 μ m and 0.009 μ M. This minimizes wear on smaller resist components and coatings.
