摘要

The capture and storage of CO2, and especially its conversion into high added value products, is a technical issue under investigation around the world in order to mitigate greenhouse gases. In particular, the hydrolysis reactions of water and the photocatalytic reduction of CO2 (artificial photosynthesis) induced by light through a catalyst allow obtaining valuable compounds, as well as: methane, methanol, among others. Composite Ag3PO4/ZnFe2O4 (p-n heterojunction) is considered a suitable candidate for the aforementioned reactions. In fact, the mentioned catalysts have already been tested on the degradation of organic pollutants that show high efficiency in visible light. However, no clear explanation has been given about the charge transfer mechanism during the photocatalytic reaction. The pH in the CO2 reduction reaction is controlled neutral thanks to the presence of the buffer salt, since the acidic solution of CO2 in the water tends to form carbonic acid.
