The present invention relates to a process for purifying ubiquitin of Entamoeba histolytic and its use in a serological system for the selective detection of antibodies induced by the same. The said system comprises an antigen solution to fix it, a washing and blocking solution, a secondary antibody, and a chromogenic substrate. The present invention belongs to the field of immunodiagnostic tests, especially to the detection of antibodies induced by parasitic infections caused by Entamoeba histolytic. Also, it works for the selective detection of invasive amebiasis through the identification and quantification of antibodies against trophozoites of Entamoeba histolytic in a sample, allowing dismissing invasive amoebiasis in sera of healthy subjects with no history of the disease. Further, in endemic areas, it discards invasive amoebiasis in sera of patients with different liver diseases, thus making a differential diagnosis and detecting invasive amebiasis with invasive hepatic amebias is, and demonstrating its reliability for the detection of invasive amebiasis.
