A chess set that includes a chessboard, eight White pawns and a set of White pieces and eight black pawns and a set of black pieces. The chess game set further comprises a screen which can be placed on a center line of the chessboard and which extends substantially perpendicular to an upper surface of the chessboard. The size of the screen is such that when placing the pieces, a player playing with White cannot see in which position the player playing black is placing his pieces on the squares of the eighth row of the chessboard and a player playing black cannot see in which position the player who plays with White places his pieces on the squares of the first row of the chessboard.
