The substance of the invention is the following chemical-building hydroxydialdehyde presented in the general formula 2: derived from 8-hydroxychinoline 8-hydroxy-2-methylquinolino-5,7-dicarboaldehyde, where R in formula 2 means 2-methylpyridine,or derived from benzo[h]quinolino-10-ol (8-hydroxychinoline analogue) 10-hydroxybenzo[h]quinolino-7,9-dicarboaldehyde, where R in formula 2 means quinoline. The essence of the invention is also the chemical production of hydroxydialdehyde presented in the general formula 2, i.e. derived from 8-hydroxychinoline 8-hydroxy-2-methylquinolino-5,7-dicarboaldehyde, where R in formula 2 means 2-methylpyridine,or derived from benzo[h]quinolino-10-ol (8-hydroxychinoline analogue) 10-hydroxybenzo[h]quinolino-7,9-dicarboaldehyde, where R in formula 2 means quinoline,consisting of the preparation in the reactor of a solution consisting of a compound of a general formula 1, R having the above meaning, in the form of 8-hydroxy-2-methylquinoline o r benzo[h]quinoline-10-ol, excess molar urotropin, and trifluoroocetic acid, in the form of a solution, after which the solution is mixed by heating at a temperature close to the boiling point of trifluoroacetic acid for at least fifty hours, and then at a temperature from 90 to 110,C for another two to four hours, the suspension obtained is acidified by a solution of hydrochloric acid of 1 to 45%,and all heating from 90'c to 100'c for at least one hour. The suspension thus obtained is cooled to room temperature and alkalised with NaOH or KOH aqueous solution, and the resulting settlements are removed,washes a large amount of cold water and drought.
