The invention concerns 3'-O-beta-D-(4"-O-methylglucopyranosyl)-flawone and the way 3'-O-beta-D-(4"-O-methylglucopyranosyl)-flawone is produced. As a result of the enzyme system contained in the cells of the Beauveria strain, KCh J1.5 bassiana is O-demethylated and 4"-O-methylglucose-ylated. The product thus obtained is extracted from the aquatic culture of the micro-organism by extraction with an organic solvent that does not mix with water (ethyl acetate).
