Light silica aerogel - carbon fibers composite and method of its preparation

The object of the invention is a light silicon aerogel (carbon fibre) composite i n which the matrix is a TMCS/n-hexane modified silicon aerogel obtained from a 10% solution of sodium silicate and citric acid with 1-1,5 mol/dm3 concentration favourably 1-mol/dm3 concentration and an isotropic carbon fibre filler with a carbon pack, favourably surface modified, by volume of between 10 and 15%,favourable 15% where the volume ratio of the components is 20:3: (2-3,5) respectively.
