MOULD OF TAPERED GEOMETRY FOR ACCURATE CONTROL OF TEMPERATURE IN THERMAL DIFFUSION WELDING OR BRAZING OF MATERIALS FOR APPLICATIONS IN EXTREME CONDITIONS
The invention relates to a mould of tapered geometry to be used in an equipment for electric field-assisted sintering, meant for joining special materials for applications in extreme conditions. According to the invention, the mould consists of a truncated-cone-shaped graphite mould body (1), a first electrical insulation (2) of determined thickness, a first material (3) to be joined, a contact area (4) between the two materials (3 and 5) or, possibly, an intermediate material, a second material (5) to be joined to the first material (3), which may be identical to or different from the first material (3), a second electrical insulation (6) of a set thickness that may be identical to or different from the first insulation (2) and a second graphite mould body (7) of truncated cone shape that may be identical to or different from the first body (1), depending on the materials to be joined.
