A non-excavation detection method and device for buried pipeline body defects belong to the field of detection methods and devices of buried pipelines. The non-excavation detection method for buried pipeline body defects comprises: a detection device obtains, on the basis of a magnetic gradient tensor and a magnetic field vector value, a distance value between a pipe body defect point and a ground measurement point; and on the basis of the distance value between the pipe body defect point and the ground measurement point and the magnetic field vector value, the detection device obtains a pipe body defect magnetic moment, so as to quantitatively evaluate the level of the pipe body defect.
