The process of estimating the somatic cell count in goat's milk comprises the steps of preparing the surfactant-based reagent, collecting the goat's milk sample in the wells of the mastitis paddle, adding the surfactant-based reagent to each well of the mastitis paddle, mixing the surfactant-based reagent with the collected milk, and visually rating the gel formation in goat's milk.
