A charge air cooler (1) is disclosed comprising a tank unit (3), a tube package (5) comprising a number of cooling tubes (7) fluidly connected to the tank unit (3), and a flow restricting arrangement (9) controllable to a closed position in which the flow restricting arrangement (9) restricts flow of fluid between the tank unit (3) and a first set (6.1) of cooling tubes (7) of the tube package (5) and maintains unrestricted flow paths between the tank unit (3) and a second set (6.2) of cooling tubes (7) of the tube package (5). The first set (6.1) of cooling tubes comprises a number of cooling tubes (7) arranged between cooling tubes (7) of the second set (6.2) of cooling tubes (7). The present disclosure further relates to an internal combustion engine (30), a vehicle (40), and a method (100) of controlling flow through cooling tubes (7) of a charge air cooler (1).
