The system (1) comprises an orientable block (6), in which are mounted at least transmitting and receiving antennas (3, 4) for detection means (2) of improvised explosive devices, which are directed so to illuminate at least the same area of the space, and a detection confirmation camera (7) which is directed towards the area illuminated by these transmitting and receiving antennas (3, 4) so as to be able to form an image of this zone, as well as means (8) for controlling the orientation of said orientable block (6), which generate a displacement of said block (6) so as to generate a scanning of part of the space by said means detection (2).
