An edge profile for bordering the superstructure of a rescue vehicle iscontemplated,specifically an edge profile for bordering the upper walking deck of afirefighting vehiclethat provide a modular construction system with enhanced security features.The edgeprofile is an extruded hollow body having a cross section with a front wallportion and anupper and lower groove for simultaneously illuminating the border of the upperwalkingdeck and the environment around the base of the vehicle. The edge profilemodularlyengages with the vehicle body via cross-sectional horizontal and verticalmountinggrooves, which do not require welding. A lower flange portion is furtherprovided to coverupper parts of storage compartments at the sides of the vehicle, especiallyroller shutters.
