The present invention relates to a process for preparing high-purity lithiumfluoride proceeding fromlithium carbonate, to preparing a lithium fluoride with a preferredmorphology. The process forpreparing lithium fluoride described herein, comprises at least the steps of:a) providing an aqueousmedium comprising dissolved lithium carbonate; b) reacting the aqueous mediumprovided in a)with gaseous hydrogen fluoride to give an aqueous suspension of solid lithiumfluoride; c)separating the solid lithium fluoride from the aqueous suspension and d)drying the separatedlithium fluoride.
