RELIABLE AFTERMARKET EVENT TICKET TRANSFER: METHOD AND APPARATUS

The present invention is an apparatus and method for validating a ticket toan event, which is being sold or otherwise transferred in the aftermarket. Amanagement system maintains the status of a ticket, either committed oruncommitted, along with a ticket ID and other ticket and eventinformation. An event entry system requires presentation of a ticket and, ifthe ticket has been committed, a correct current passkey. The passkeyidentifies the person presenting the ticket as the owner of the ticket. Ticketvalidation and uncommitment functionalities are also provided by anafter-market ticket validation system.
