SHIELDED LED (LIGHT-EMITTING DIODE) STREETLIGHT AND OTHER LUMINAIRES AND METHODS OF USE

A luminaire has a chassis; an LED (light emitting diode); and a baffle partthat is connectedto the chassis to move, relative to the LED, into a series of operatingpositions, defined abouta range of motion, to adjust a light pattern emitted by the luminaire. Anotherluminaire isdisclosed having: a chassis; an LED (light emitting diode) mounted on anundersurface ofthe chassis to point downward toward a ground surface in use; a plurality oflight shields,with each light shield being structured to interchangeably mount on theundersurface of thechassis to at least partially encircle the LED in use; with each light shieldbeing structured tointerchangeably mount to the chassis to, in use, direct light emitted from theLED into arespective light pattern that is different from the respective light patternsproduced by theother light shields of the plurality of light shields. Methods are describedof installing andoperating a luminaire.
